A Ukrainian Transgender Man has safely escaped to Germany, away from the war. He ran away because "he had to leave to care for his mother". He joins all the other transgender people in running away from Ukraine. Note here that Ukraine has an exit ban and mandatory conscription of all men 16-60, to fight the Ukrainian War.
First off, the very fact that Ukraine has an exit ban and mandatory conscription, tells you all you need to know, that the war is going badly for Ukraine, and that many, perhaps most, men do not want to fight for Ukraine, against Russia. All you need to know.
Secondly, ALL MEN leaving the country during a defensive war, are traitors. ALL MEN. Perhaps treason is moral in such a particular instance. But the act of leaving is treasonous. It is irrelevant if they need to protect their refugee families and whatever. Their very act of leaving, deprives the national army of his fighting strength, thus makes the army more likely to lose the war. If universal suffrage matters, then wartime refugees are treasonous.
This logic applies to all of the Syrian and Afghan refugees, too. If their side has already lost, the treason logic still applies. Surrender to the enemy, following loss, is not treason. Running away is.
There is all this drama about Ukrainian Transgender Men and Women trying to evade the exit ban. If America, Europe, and NATO really stands with Ukraine and supports Zelensky, they should be flying all of these Transgender people back into Ukraine so they can pick up a rifle. By taking in Transgender people, America and NATO are supporting treason against Ukraine. The logic is clear and simple. Transgender men, suck up and take responsibility for being a man. Transgender women, hey, the war needs you, too. Trans women are better at ground combat than cis women. That is a fact.
Now, are women refugees traitors, too? Perhaps, somewhat. But since their combat ability is about 72% of men’s (Ukraine 2016 Olympic weightlifting), so they are 72% treasonous, as well. Children and old people. Children have no agency, so if their parents dragged them away into refugee, then no responsibility. Old people, their traitor status is based on their combat ability.
This leads into a question of Just War versus Total Mobilization and Democracy. Christian Just War Theory assumes that there is a difference between combatants and civilians. That soldiers can maim and kill each other all they want (basically), but civilians are off-limits. However, ever since the French Revolution, Levee en Masse is a thing now. Mobilization of the People and mass conscription means that everyone is a combatant, and the soldier-civilian distinction is meaningless. For a country to fight any war, even defensive ones, requires some popular support, unless they are depending on a mercenary army. Even an All-Volunteer Force requires taxes to pay for them. Mass conscription raises the population support to a more intimate level, of course. And any refugee, in such a case, is a traitor to the war.
This also gets into the idea of universal resistance, as Zelensky has called for, and NATO cheered for. That all Ukrainian civilians continue to resist their Russian invaders, even after the Ukrainian Armed Forces has retreated from that particular area. Armed resistance, of course, turns all involved civilians into combatants. Which, in Just War Theory, means killing is fair game, and not a war crime. Anyone, who want the Ukrainian People and culture to continue existing, would not support any popular resistance to the Russian Army. Anyone calling for civilians and militias to keep resisting Russians, know that you have signed their death warrants, and that you are not supporting the Ukrainian People’s survival. [For the State and the People are not the same thing, stupid.]
That idea of universal resistance is another proof of what I have been saying all along, that Protests are simply a less lethal form of conflict. That protests and demonstrations are undemocratic coercions of the Body Politic. Note that I am not saying whether protesting is moral, but that it is simply one point on the Use Of Force spectrum.
Edited to add: Polish people are also getting passports following the Yavoriv cruise missile attack. These Poles are also betraying the Polish government. They are not confident in NATO's guarantees.
Edited to add: Russians are running away, too. They are traitors, too. If there's an ethnic component to the exodus, meaning one ethnicity is more likely to leave than another, then the defecting traitors are de facto helping an ethnic cleansing. The only way to "fight" an ethnic cleansing, is to stay and fight.
