Glimpse of Congress and Washington Elite Ruminations

Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-FL, is retiring from House after 3 terms. She alleges that the Democrat Party leadership does not support the moderates at all. Nor are they concerned about helping the moderates hold on to purple districts. Murphy further alleges that all of the blue lobbying interest groups (environmental, labor, immigration, anti-gin, etc) no longer are interest specific; instead, they only do what the Democratic Party leadership wants. Murphy alleges that Republicans are just as bad, and Democrats will lose to Republicans.

This is a further indicator of the domestic politics becoming intractable, losing degrees of freedom. If you assume that Congress representatives are not corrupt, are there to do what they're supposed to do, and that they love America, (which is what Murphy portrays of herself and the others), then this is straightforward depiction of a political system that's getting rid of moderates.

If you assume that the banks were bankrolled the moderates, the Washington Borgian uniparty, then this article indicates that the liberal and conservative groups they had nurtured, have grown into uncontrollable monsters, that they are crying for their lost influence. That the populist gestalt is finally winning over Washington from the uniparty.
